Counselling & therapy sessions
Warm, down-to-earth therapy that’s centred around you.
Life can be hard. With the right support it’s possible to find a more positive way forward.
Individual counselling & psychotherapy
£70 per 50-minute session (In-person or online)
I offer individual 1-2-1, open-ended counselling and psychotherapy that is tailored to you. Sessions are 50-minutes long, take place weekly and are available in-person in Stanmore, North West London, or online.
I provide a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can speak openly about what matters most to you, without judgement and for as long as you need.
Open-ended therapy means there is no fixed end point. Instead, we move at a pace that feels right for you, with the flexibility to adapt our focus as your needs evolve. Whether you’re looking for short-term support for a specific concern; or something longer-term, where we can explore patterns, experiences and underlying feelings in more depth; the work is guided by what feels most helpful for you.
This way of working means that:
Sessions are shaped around your individual needs and goals.
You can share at your own pace, with no pressure to say more than you are ready to.
We work collaboratively to support your overall well-being.
You don’t need to have a clear reason for starting therapy – if something doesn’t feel right, that’s enough.
How counselling and therapy can help
Working together, we will regularly take time to pause and reflect on our progress, making sure that what we’re doing continues to feel helpful and meaningful, while also supporting you to develop practical skills you can carry into everyday life.
The length of therapy is guided by your needs and we will review it together in a thoughtful and sensitive way as the work unfolds.
I can help you to:
understand yourself and the patterns behind your thoughts, feelings and behaviours;
explore areas of life that feel heavy and unfulfilling;
ease anxiety and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns;
set and maintain healthy boundaries, protecting your time, energy and peace;
grow self-worth and develop a kinder relationship with yourself;
cope more effectively when life feels overwhelming;
communicate your needs more clearly and improve relationships;
process grief, bereavement and life changes; and
feel more confident in yourself and your decisions, trusting your own judgement.
What to expect
1. Taking the first step
Reaching out takes courage and it’s natural to feel unsure.
That first step is often the hardest, but it is also the beginning of things starting to feel lighter.
You don’t need to have anything worked out to begin. Simply starting is enough and we can take it from there together.
2. Finding the right therapist
The relationship you have with your therapist matters.
Feeling comfortable, understood and free to be yourself is key to successful therapy.
I offer a free, introductory chat where you can ask any questions you may have and see if working together feels right, with no pressure or obligation.
3. A space you can trust
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can speak openly and without judgement.
My approach is warm, compassionate and grounded, keeping your well-being at the centre of our work.
4. At your pace
We work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
You’re free to share as much or as little as you choose, without pressure to go further than you’re ready for. Our focus can adapt as your needs evolve.
5. How long therapy lasts
There’s no fixed timeline for therapy. Some people come for short-term support to focus on a specific concern, while others choose longer-term work to explore things in more depth.
We’ll regularly check in on how the work is supporting you and adjust as needed. You remain in control of your own pace, direction and timeline.
6. Bringing our work to a close
Ending therapy is something we approach together, thoughtfully and at the right time for you.
We’ll take time to reflect on what has changed and what you’re taking forwards with you. You’re always welcome to return in the future if you ever need further support.
You don’t need to have anything worked out to begin. If you’re thinking about getting support, you’re welcome to get in touch or book a free introductory call.
Frequently asked questions
Who do you work with?
I work with adults from a diverse range of backgrounds, who experience a variety of life challenges. Many of my clients reach out with a specific issue, such as anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties or grief. Others come to therapy because they feel a general sense of overwhelm, feel stuck or just sense that something isn’t right.
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong to begin counselling or psychotherapy – recognising that things could feel better is a valid place to start. Whatever you’re facing, we can work it out and take it forward together.
What do you charge?
Sessions are £70 and last for 50-minutes.
Do I need to commit to a set number of sessions?
No, counselling and psychotherapy with me is open-ended. Some people come for a shorter period to focus on a specific issue, while others prefer longer term work to explore their experiences in more depth.
We’ll regularly review our work together to ensure it is always relevant and adapted to suit your changing needs.
What if I don't have a specific reason for coming to counselling?
Don’t worry, you don’t need to have anything worked out before you get in touch – I’m here to help you make sense of things.
Many people come to counselling with a general sense that something just doesn’t feel quite right or that their current ways of coping are no longer serving them well.
We can start exactly where you are and work out the rest together as we go.
What's the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
In reality, the terms overlap significantly and are often used interchangeably. It can sometimes be helpful to think of counselling as focusing a little more on the ‘here and now’ – helping you to untangle immediate stress, anxiety or life changes.
Psychotherapy goes a step further to look at the ‘why’ – exploring deeper patterns and past experiences to create lasting change. You don’t need to choose between them. We will use the tools that best help you move forward.
What are sessions like?
Sessions are a space where you can show up exactly as you are. We’ll talk things through at your own pace and you don’t need to have anything worked out to begin.
I’ll listen with care, ask a few gentle questions and share what I notice, so we can better understand what’s going on and begin to think about how things might change.
We always move at your own pace and you’re free to share as much or as little as you choose.
How can counselling and psychotherapy help me?
Counselling and psychotherapy are a meaningful commitment to your well-being. They offer an objective, non-judgemental space to look honestly at your current life situation. Often, the habits that kept us safe in the past, end up blocking our growth today.
Therapy helps you recognise these hidden blocks, giving you the clarity and confidence to make difficult life choices and safely experiment with new, healthier ways of responding to stress and relationships.
What about confidentiality?
Confidentiality is a fundamental part of my work and anything you share with me will be kept strictly confidential.
The only exception to this involves legal or safeguarding concerns, specifically if I feel there is an immediate danger to your safety or the safety of others.
I practice in accordance with the BACP’s ethical guidelines and we will talk this through when we first meet.
How long does therapy take?
Therapy is very personal and there is no set timeframe.
How long you stay is entirely up to you. Some clients get exactly what they need in a short period, while others prefer to keep a consistent space over many months or years. Because our work is open-ended, we will touch base regularly to ensure our sessions remain meaningful to you, with the flexibility to adapt to your changing needs as our work progresses.
Ending therapy will never be a sudden surprise; when you feel ready to finish we will plan it together, thoughtfully and with care.
What if I'm looking for urgent mental health support?
I don’t offer emergency intervention. If you, or someone else, is in immediate danger, please dial 999 or go to your nearest A&E department.
For free, confidential, 24/7 support, you can contact the following resources immediately:
NHS Mental Health Services: Call 111 and select the mental health option.

How do I know if you're the right counsellor for me?
Trusting your gut feeling is an important part of choosing a therapist. Because the connection between us is so important, I offer a free, no obligation 20-minute chat.
This brief conversation gives you a chance to share what’s going on for you, ask any questions and get a sense of what it might be like to work together.
There is no pressure to book a full session afterwards. How you choose to proceed is entirely your decision.
What will we talk about?
We will talk about whatever you feel comfortable bringing into the room. There are no rules or expectations.
If you ever feel stuck or don’t know what to say, I am here to help. My role is to help you process your feelings and work out what’s important.
What happens in the first session?
Our first session is mostly about settling in and getting to know each other. I will gather some brief background information and outline how our time together will work.
Please don’t worry about saying the ‘right’ thing, there are no expectations. It is simply a safe, unhurried space for you to share what has been going on. The best thing you can do is to show up exactly as you are and see how it feels to work together.
What if I need to cancel a session?
I completely understand that life happens and sometimes plans have to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Because that time is permanently reserved for you, sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will still be charged at the full rate.
Wondering if counselling and psychotherapy could help you?

You can book a free introductory call to talk things through and find out how I can support you. There’s no pressure, just a chance for you to ask any questions and get a sense of whether this feels right for you.
